We would need to discuss what you want on your website in order for me to give you a proper estimate.
Here are some ballpark figures:
Basic websites start at $300.
Various cost factors:
- Complexity of layout
- Original logos and other graphics
- Proprietary menu scripts, such as drop-down menus
- Videos - the rate will depend on the size and whether the video can be used as is or will need to be reformatted. Videos also need extra bandwidth.
- Feedback forms: the price for a simple form will be $35 for the first form and $20 for additional forms.
- Proofreading and copy-editing required
- Hosting for a site depends on the final space and bandwidth required and what kind of maintenance you want. I generally include one year's worth of basic managed hosting in the original design price, which includes email forwarding for multiple addresses: yourname@yourwebsite.com forwarded to your real email address. I do not provide webmail or email storage, or chatrooms.
- Additions of new material throughout the year will be charged according to difficulty. Simple, occasional edits are included in the basic rate. Laying out a new page and adding it to the menu will cost from $30 up, depending on the complexity of the page.
Newsletter Rates
A sign-up form on your site for a newsletter costs a one time fee of $30. You receive the results by email as each form is submitted. Typically the form would ask for name, valid email address, their permission to receive your newsletters, how they found your site, etc.
If you would like an email newsletter "branded" to look like your website, I can create an html email format for you. Images will be stored on your website, resulting in a small email of about 50kb, which is acceptable even for those who have dial-up connections. If the recipient does not want to download the images when opening the email, they will see a plain text message.
An original one or two column email newsletter can be formatted for $40-$80, including reformatting and uploading images to your site. Additional newsletters using the same layout can be prepared for around $30 depending on the number of images used. It is possible to include polls or surveys, but this will add to the cost. You can email the messages yourself or I will quote you a rate based on the number of recipients.
The recipient addresses must come through the sign-up form, or must be verified as wanting to receive the newsletter - for example, from an organization's membership list.

If we agree to do business together, you will receive a Terms of Service Agreement that will spell out any restrictions.
